Posted on: Wednesday, 8 February 2006, 12:00 CST

At the 2006 Media Summit in New York City this week (http://www.digitalhollywood.com/MediaSummit.html), Maven Networks Vice President of Business Development Nicholas Troiano will discuss the explosion of Internet video and new methods of content distribution, while outlining the challenges each present to media companies.

The panel discussion, "Internet Video, Advertising & Marketing: The Next Generation of Consumer Reach" is scheduled for Thursday, February 9.

With broadband-enabled homes and portable devices providing consumers with access to rich content whenever and wherever they want, the worldwide broadband video market is poised for explosive growth, likely reaching $16 billion by the end of the decade (ABI Research).

The panel will discuss how Internet video has passed the critical threshold of acceptance by the advertising and marketing communities. Whether on PCs, mobile devices or televisions, Internet video is quickly becoming a dominant entertainment and communications medium. For content providers looking to build a loyal, revenue-generating following using Internet video, proven delivery technologies that provide superior customer experiences are of greatest importance. Panelists, including Troiano and executives from AOL and Brightcove, will discuss today's practical use of Internet video, and the critical technology links needed now and in the future to harness the power of the medium.
