Moteiv Corporation Introduces New Low Cost Wireless Sensor System

Moteiv Corporation, a leading manufacturer of wireless sensor networks, today announced the introduction of Tmote Invent(TM), its newest low-cost wireless sensor system. The system consists of hardware and software components that combined allow customers to quickly and easily build and install custom wireless sensing applications at a much lower cost than previously available. The hardware component combines the company's Tmote Sky(TM) sensor module for communication and computation with a rechargeable battery, an integrated suite of sensors, a microphone and a speaker all packaged into an innovative case. The system's software component is Moteiv's robust distribution of the open-source TinyOS operating system. Moteiv's unique enhancements to TinyOS yield long-lived reliable applications through integration of cutting-edge open-source technology with robust, manageable wireless technology from Moteiv.
