eWAN1 Poised for Shift Into Global Entertainment & Content Delivery Business

Posted on: Thursday, 9 February 2006, 12:00 CST

eWAN1, Inc. (Pink Sheets:EWAN), today released the company's plans and timetables to begin competing in the Global Entertainment and Content Delivery Business. After its landmark acquisition of 52 year old California-based cable broadcaster ClearWave Communications, eWAN1 is making preparations to compete directly with traditional Cable operators like Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA), Cablevision Systems Corporation (NYSE:CVC), Time Warner (NYSE:TWX), satellite providers like DIRECTV (NYSE:DTV) and other media powerhouses like Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) in the future of the Entertainment and Content delivery business.

The Southern California-based broadband network solutions company and internet service provider is reacting quickly to the market opportunity created by the advent of IP television in order to play a seminal role in the future of the burgeoning industry.

Scott Kettle, President of eWAN1 commented, "What people have been missing in all the excitement and buzz generated by the advent of IP television is that IPtv is only a piece, perhaps the last key piece, in a much larger puzzle. Undoubtedly, the implications are huge, but only in the context of global content delivery in converged communications platforms. Now people will be able to use their Broadband Internet pipe, DSL, Cable, Satellite or Wireless, to access the existing facets of the internet as well as telephony and television programming through a single source." He continued, "Cisco Systems' $6.9 billion acquisition of set-top box manufacturer Scientific Atlanta is evidence that major corporations with a foothold in content or communications delivery are making significant investments in the future of the 'converged world'."

According to research conducted by Infonetics, IPtv service providers spent $304 Million in IPtv-related infrastructure in 2004, a number that is expected to grow to $4.5 Billion by 2009. Infonetics also asserted that there were 2.1 Million IPtv users worldwide in the first quarter of 2005, which the research suggests will skyrocket to 53.7 Million worldwide users by 2009 along with $44 Billion in service revenues. The number of IPtv subscribers in North America alone is expected to increase 12,985% over current levels by 2009.

eWAN1's growth strategy includes investing in the 'pipe', device and the content delivery by utilizing the next-generation set-top boxes developed by its Cocom International Division (which has designed and developed electronics for companies such as Nokia, Sony Ericsson, a joint venture between Japan-based consumer electronics maker Sony and Sweden-based Ericsson, and 3Com), and the content from its ClearWave Communications subsidiary. Utilizing the offerings from these subsidiaries, eWAN1 will be able to offer 175 channels of 'high definition' clarity television and cable programming (IPtv), full-featured Internet, telephone service (VOIP) and Video on Demand (VOD) to any of the 150 million existing broadband internet users worldwide.

Kettle continued, "We are currently 60 days away from launching and heavily marketing our new bundled service, branded Cocom and Direct Connect, which will include our "Triple-Play" Digital Media Center set-top-box with wireless keyboard, mouse and remote control as well as our monthly subscription to all television and entertainment content. We are excited that we have a ground floor opportunity to compete with our best-of-breed product and anticipate enormous growth in revenues and earnings as a result of our focus.
