Strategic Relationship Delivers Highly Reliable Multi-Display
Solutions to Customers in Financial Services and Other Professional
Industries
Appian Graphics, the leading provider of professional multi-display device solutions, announced today a strategic alliance with Wyse Technology, the worldwide leader in server-centric computing. The partnership makes the highly reliable two-port Appian Typhoon(TM) PCI card, featuring ATI's RADEON(TM) VE graphics chip, a standard factory option for the Wyse(R) Winterm(TM) 9450XE and 9455XL thin clients.
"The combination of Wyse, Appian and ATI provides a powerful, low-profile solution for financial services where Appian has a proven history of multi-display product leadership and innovation," said Jim Greenup, president of Appian Graphics. "Equipped with the Appian Typhoon powered by ATI's industry recognized graphics, Wyse's Winterm 9450XE and 9455XL expandable thin clients enable financial institutions to save precious desktop and floor space while powering multiple monitors with a single graphics card."
"ATI and Appian have a shared vision to deliver industry-leading graphics solutions that feature robust and reliable operation," said Andrew Schmied, senior group manager, Embedded Display Graphics, ATI Technologies Inc. "Our combined depth of video graphics expertise enables solutions designed for quality visual performance in independent multi-display graphics applications."
"Appian provides our Winterm thin-client customers with a highly reliable multiple monitor solution," said Mike DeNeffe, senior director, Winterm business line for Wyse Technology. "Wyse is excited to offer this solution as a factory option for our financial services and other professions where advanced multi-display video is needed."
The Wyse Winterm 9450XE and 9455XL thin clients are based on the Microsoft(R) Windows XP Embedded operating system and provide the most options for customers to create solutions tailored to their specific hardware and software needs. In addition to multiple monitor support for financial services companies, the secure and affordable Wyse Winterm 9450XE and 9455XL devices can also be customized with high-resolution displays for healthcare requirements, local browser support for call centers, local application support for retail, and enhanced security peripherals for government customers. Given that the Winterm 9000 series is built on Windows XP Embedded, it also provides enhanced support for wireless connectivity, greater security and better manageability.
The highest performance dual-monitor, low-profile solution on the market, the Appian Typhoon offers an integrated dual DVI-I output and ships with an output cable and DVI-to-analog adapters. With ATI's RADEON VE multi-display graphics processor, and 64MB of DDR SDRAM, the Appian Typhoon offers display resolutions up to 2048 x 1536 in analog mode and 1280 x 1024 in DVI mode. Like all Appian solutions, the Appian Typhoon includes ATI's HYDRAVISION(TM) Multiple Monitor Desktop Management Software and the AppianXtras(TM) tool suite.
