Appligent, Inc. (www.appligent.com), a leading provider of PDF-related software applications, has appointed Bruce Salkovitz to the position of Product Manager.

In his new role, Salkovitz will manage the direction of all of Appligent’s server-based products, interfacing between the firm’s Development, Quality Assurance and Customer Support departments. He also will be instrumental in the development and launch of new Appligent applications, working with Sales and Marketing to promote them to both new and existing customers. In addition, he will work directly with Appligent’s client base to ensure that user needs continue to be met as its product line expands.

Salkovitz has over 16 years of experience in the Information Technology field, including 12 years of interacting directly with customers in product management and development roles. He spent the last six years in the pharmaceutical industry, which heavily utilizes PDF document management tools, while working for Liquent Inc. (formerly ESPS Inc.) of Fort Washington, PA. At Liquent, his most recent title was Manager, Software Solutions. Previously, he served the company as a product manager, systems engineer and quality assurance (QA) engineer.

Prior to that, Salkovitz spent over nine years with Computer Associates International, Inc., of Mount Laurel, NJ, including five years as a product manager for Computer Associates-Cricket Macintosh Applications. While there, he also served in technical analyst and QA roles.

“With his strong background in PDF-related document management, and his many years of experience in a customer facing position for a development organization, Bruce was an ideal choice for us,” says Virginia Gavin, president of Appligent. “As we continue to grow and launch new products, we’re very pleased to have a professional of his caliber on board.”

Salkovitz studied Computer and Information Services at Temple University. He resides in Warrington, PA.
