"Maintaining the health of an organization requires attention to the internal processes that drive and address strategic visions and operating requirements," said David E. Girard, Chief Operating Officer, CIBER, Inc. "CIBER has extensive experience aligning the goals of healthcare organizations to the information systems that provide the critical patient, employee, financial, and transactional data required for successful operation. By leveraging CIBER's expertise, healthcare organizations of all sizes can improve efficiency and productivity, even when budgets are facing significant cost pressures."
CIBER is a leader in helping healthcare organizations of all sizes-from regional hospitals to nationwide healthcare networks-solve complex problems through the innovative application of IT solutions. CIBER has helped more than 150 healthcare providers, 12 of the top 15 pharmaceutical manufacturers, more than 85 life sciences manufacturers and distributors, and more than 100 government and non-profit health organizations with validation, FDA and DEA requirements, endowment fund tracking difficulties, cost tracking and control issues, just-in-time replenishment needs, warranty and shelf-life tracking challenges, electronic reporting, and claims processing.
Most recently, CIBER has been instrumental in assisting the following clients:
* Summit Medical Group, Summit, N.J. -- Summit Medical Group is a primary and specialty care provider, serving more than 500,000 patients from its ten state-wide locations since its founding in 1929. More than two years ago, Summit tapped CIBER to provide IT systems support. Since then, CIBER has become Summit's trusted IT advisor, providing systems design and architecture services, hardware procurement, local area network/wide area network support, and IT coordination and support during the organization's move to a new facility later this year. * Preferred Care, Rochester, NY -- A leading non-profit health plan, Preferred Care serves the healthcare needs of more than 270,000 people in western New York. CIBER supported the organization's initiative to create Web portals to provide members, providers, brokers, and employers secure access to data. Called "Easylink," the portals have automated manual processes and now provide around-the-clock access to critical information, resulting in increased sales and improved customer satisfaction for the organization. In 2005, J.D. Power and Associates recognized Preferred Care for providing "an outstanding member experience." * Froedtert and Community Health, Milwaukee, Wis. -- Community Memorial Hospital (CMH), a 237-bed facility with a medical staff of 457, selected CIBER to convert CMH's departmental structure and chart of accounts to Froedtert & Community Health's (F&CH) Lawson enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, following CMH's merger with F&CH. The project also involved changing all historical records to reflect this new structure. As a result of the project, the consistency of data between CMH and F&CH will be assured, reporting capabilities will improve, and IT support costs will decrease. * Clarian Health Partners, Indianapolis, Ind. -- Clarian Health Partners selected CIBER to upgrade its hospital business systems' software applications to the most recent version of Lawson enterprise software to take advantage of new functionality. Clarian uses the software to record, manage, process and analyze all financial transactions affecting the hospital system, such as paying employees and vendors, producing monthly operating statements, placing orders for goods and services, and tracking inventories. Clarian is one of Indiana's largest employers, with nearly 13,000 employees and 1,500 physicians on medical staff. It is also the region's busiest health system, with more than one million patient visits annually. Clarian owns or is affiliated with 15 hospitals across Indiana.
"CIBER has vast experience implementing IT solutions for hundreds of healthcare organizations, including six of the top ten national managed care companies," said Girard. "As a result, firms seeking to position themselves as leaders in the industry can rest assured that CIBER IT solutions are quick and cost effective catalysts of positive change."
CIBER will be offering five healthcare presentations at its booth (#1711) at HIMSS, including presentations on global distributed delivery, mobile asset management, change management, ERP implementations, and Web-based collaboration platforms. Learn more online at http://www.ciber.com/events/himss.
