I-Logix Wins $900,000 for Wireless Telecommunication Application After an Intense Review, I-Logix Wins Order and Drives Productivity and Quality Goals Enabling User to Gain Competitive Advantage
ANDOVER, Mass., Feb. 15, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- I-Logix (www.ilogix.com) announced today that a major North American, West Coast-based Wireless Telecommunications Company invested over $900,000 in the award-winning I-Logix Rhapsody Model-Driven Development (MDD) environment. The company's objective was to use MDD technology to drive productivity and quality improvements in order to establish a competitive advantage in the telecommunications market.
The Wireless Telecommunications Company needed a way to develop robust, high quality software that would pass strict radio software protocols. Traditional software design methods were unable to manage the complex demands placed on them, and the company recognized that in order to remain competitive in the telecommunications market they needed an MDD solution. After an exhaustive review that included four major "modeling tool" providers and I-Logix, they chose Rhapsody.
The company's Research & Development division became self-sufficient tool experts as they rigorously tested the new Rhapsody tool environment. In order to meet the new user's aggressive development schedule, I-Logix engineering and account services teams went on-site and optimized the ramp-up using standard I-Logix services products.
The hard work paid off. Rhapsody exceeded management's productivity and quality goals; in six months, developers produced what would have ordinarily taken 2 years of work to complete -- 200 models and 2 million lines of code. In addition, they were able to develop high quality software by validating all architecture and behavior at the model level before the project was built. In well under a year, the company was able to successfully leverage their investment to obtain a competitive advantage in the marketplace, and now uses Rhapsody for all phases of R&D development. Based on Rhapsody's proven results and the help of experts from the I-Logix team, the company plans to adopt the tool set across more corporate divisions to make Rhapsody the "tool of choice" for the entire corporation.
