IMC Networks Announces New Line of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) to Ethernet Media Converters

Posted on: Thursday, 16 February 2006, 12:00 CST

IMC Networks today announced a new line of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) media converters. The CCTV Media Converter series converts the twisted pair interface of IP-based network cameras to 75 Ohm coaxial cable, allowing the use of already-installed analog video cable, eliminating the need for re-cabling. Using existing cabling saves both time and money while adding flexibility to the installation.

"A lot of coaxial cabling is still being used with older analog cameras," said Jerry Roby, CEO and Chairman of privately-held IMC Networks. "With our CCTV converters, operators can upgrade their camera networks with today's full-featured IP cameras without worrying about the additional cost of pulling and replacing that legacy analog cable."

IMC Networks' series of CCTV converters are offered in three versions: 1) McCCTV Standalone Twisted Pair to BNC Converter -- Standalone converter for point to point applications -- Includes space saving internal AC power supply -- Designed with a small, high quality enclosure 2) IE-CCTV Rugged "Industrial Ethernet" (IE) Standalone Twisted Pair to BNC Converter with Multiple Powering Options -- Extended operating temperature -45 degrees C to +70 degrees C -- AC, DC and 802.3af PoE power options -- Extended voltage range on the DC power block: 7 to 50 VDC input -- DC terminal block allows daisy-chain powering -- Includes ability to mount on DIN-rail 3) iMcV-CCTV Modular Twisted Pair to BNC Media Converter -- Installs in a chassis at the central site or camera location -- SNMP-manageable
