Feb. 16--A man was shot in the head during an argument Wednesday on the front porch of a Chandler apartment, police said.
The man, whose name was not released, was flown to Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix in critical condition, said detective Livi Kacic.
Witnesses told police the man answered a knock at the door at 871 W. Ray Road at 8 p.m. and argued with another man outside.
They heard at least one shot and saw the visitor leave in a dark car. Police later found the car abandoned nearby.
The visitor is described as white or Hispanic, wearing a gray or white T-shirt, khaki pants and a blue beanie. He may have a scar on his face.
Neighbors who did not want to be identified said the complex is known for drugs. They remembered a similar scene last year.
Police ask anyone with information to call (480) 782-4130.
