Mega-Projects Drive World Wide Industrial Project Spending, an Industrialinfo.Com News Alert

In the recent years, construction of mega-projects, that is those projects with total investment value in excess of at least $1 billion, have been few and far between. However, analysis of Industrial Info's Industrial Project Database indicates that since 1998, more than 1,000 projects with a TIV of $1 billion or more have been proposed globally. About 40% of these projects have subsequently been delayed, put on hold, or outright cancelled leaving a current figure of around 600 mega-projects that are in various stages of development, construction, or operation.
