Independent Professionals Can Enjoy Low-Cost, State-of-the-Art Timekeeping From Any Computer With Internet Access

Posted on: Wednesday, 22 February 2006, 12:00 CST

For the first time ever, independent professionals on the go have access to the latest web-based timekeeping technology that previously was available only to larger organizations.

Time59 is a new system for self-employed lawyers, accountants, consultants and others who need to manage their billable hours. It operates completely within a computer's web browser, so there is no software to install. Users may access their account from any computer with internet access. They can then input, analyze and bill their time, confident that the information will be stored securely in a state-of-the-art data center.

Christopher Monaghan, a Chicago-based self-employed programmer/analyst, developed Time59 in response to his own timekeeping requirements. "I needed to track hours for each client so that I could produce invoices each month," he recalls. "My goal was to create a timekeeping system that was as quick and easy to use as e-mail."

Time59, he emphasizes, "literally follows you around, always ready for you to enter those valuable time records on the fly." With Time59 you can define hourly rates, allowing the system to calculate your billings. Time59 also interfaces with QuickBooks accounting software, creating an end-to-end billing and accounts receivable solution.

Time59 operates under SSL security, the same encryption format used for online stock trading. "Storing data online is safer than keeping it on your own computer where hardware failure or unauthorized access can occur," says Monaghan.

Time59 is sold as a subscription for $19.95 per year. For more information, including a free 30-day trial, visit www.time59.com.
