Feb. 24--Some people just have a knack for holding an audience's attention.

One such talented person is Cheryl Ford Mente, executive director of the Creative Arts Theatre & School. A familiar face in the community, Mente joined the CATS family in January 2004 and has worked tirelessly, helping the nonprofit organization succeed.

She will be back in the footlights Saturday night at the CATS' Talent Showcase, "A Night at Mardi Gras." Mente and Donna Cates are chairwomen of the event, which will include more than 30 performing arts acts from adults and children.

Tickets are just $5 for the show, which is scheduled for 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Creative Arts Theatre & School, 1100 W. Randol Mill Road. You can purchase tickets at the door. Call (817) 861-2287 or learn more online at www.creativearts.org.
