Today at the PMA 2006 International Tradeshow and Convention, Simple Star introduced PhotoShowTV, a revolutionary way for new digital consumers to enjoy their digital photos as high-quality, full motion video with stereo sound on their TVs. Based on the award-winning PhotoShow authoring software and following the industry leading PhotoShow DVD service, PhotoShowTV provides consumers with even more options to create infectious entertainment that plays everywhere. Unlike viewing static pictures, PhotoShows are compelling, personal entertainment that helps bring memories to life through a rich multimedia experience combining professional quality credits, captions, transitions, special effects and clip art with a musical soundtrack.
"Over twenty million PhotoShows have been viewed to date because people find PhotoShow's entertaining experience the best and easiest way to tell stories and bring their memories to life," said Chad Richard, Simple Star CEO. "PhotoShowTV gives photo enthusiasts another way to enjoy their digital photos and video clips by making it easy for them to make personal TV channels starring their own families."
PhotoShowTV is the most recent innovation from Simple Star and makes watching PhotoShows with family as easy as gathering everyone in the living room. The service is complete with personalization options that give PhotoShowTV channels a "prime time" feel. PhotoShowTV's easy-to-use interface also lets users choose the content they want to receive as well as the visual style in which it is presented. With features such as turning PhotoShows into infinite TV screensavers, and smart and simple online management for efficient organization of PhotoShows, everyone can simply have their content, their way.
These consumers can take advantage of this service by simply subscribing content to PhotoShowTV and choosing favorite PhotoShows from their own collection or those of friends and family through connected televisions like Microsoft's Windows Media Center. Additionally, a Windows XP client is available to bring this entertaining new way to view PhotoShows to PCs. PhotoShowTV also works with Microsoft's Xbox 360 console when used as a Media Center PC extender.
PhotoShowTV users receive a complementary PhotoShow Circle membership, providing a whole new set of tools designed to make sharing and showcasing PhotoShows on the Internet easy and engaging. This online sharing community brings PhotoShow users and viewers together by providing each PhotoShow Circle member with their own, unique website.
A beta version of PhotoShowTV service is available now. To learn more and get started, please visit: www.simplestar.com/photoshowtv.
PhotoShowTV requires a Windows PC running XP Service Pack 2 with 5GB of free disk space or a Windows Media Center with 5 GB of free disk space. It can also be used with an Xbox 360 when used as a Media Center PC extender.
