Tech Data Corporation Again Ranks Among FORTUNE's Most Admired Companies

Posted on: Monday, 27 February 2006, 12:00 CST

Tech Data Corporation (NASDAQ:TECD), a leading IT products distributor, has been named to FORTUNE magazine's list of America's Most Admired Companies for the eighth consecutive year. Described by FORTUNE as "the definitive report card on corporate reputations," the rankings will appear in the publication's March 6 issue. The study rates 303 companies using eight criteria: innovation, employee talent, use of corporate assets, social responsibility, management quality, financial soundness, long-term investment and quality of products or services. The study recognized Tech Data among eight other Florida-based companies including AutoNation Inc., Publix Super Markets Inc. and Lennar Corp.

"Tech Data's strong reputation as a leading, respected company is driven by the dedication of our employees and management team," said Tech Data's Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO Steve Raymund. "Through their talent and ingenuity, Tech Data has consistently delivered the innovative services and support our IT reseller customers need to profitably grow their businesses."

For more than three decades, the company has introduced pioneering industry firsts to resellers such as business-building e-business tools, extensive financing options and customer-branded private label product delivery. Late last year, Tech Data once again enhanced its TDInteract suite of leading e-business tools with enhancements to techdata.com. The Web site features demand-generating tools, advanced search capabilities and easier navigation to help resellers and their sales forces more effectively influence end-user purchases and capitalize on new revenue opportunities.

Also focused on the community, Tech Data supports numerous non-profit organizations including the United Way, American Red Cross and Salvation Army. Tech Data employees are actively involved in the community and volunteer thousands of hours each year to work with organizations such as the American Cancer Society, Florida Blood Services, the Humane Society, Junior Achievement, Junior League of Clearwater-Dunedin and the SPCA.

In addition to its eight years on the America's Most Admired Companies list, Tech Data has been ranked on the FORTUNE 500(R) for a decade. Last year, FORTUNE placed Tech Data atop its "Hall of Fame," citing "Tech Data has risen faster on the FORTUNE 500 than any other company (over the past 10 years)...It has outsmarted rivals by keeping expenses and debt low. Boom or bust, smart management never goes out of style."

Tech Data also consistently receives recognition from business partners and customers for its exceptional service and support. For the third consecutive year, resellers chose Tech Data as their "preferred source" of IT products, according to the 2005 CRN Sourcing Study. Meanwhile, the company recently was recognized by leading business partners Enterasys Networks Inc., Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., Nortel Networks and Visioneer Inc. for the its exception support of document imaging and networking manufacturers.
