Fonix Telecom Now Certified in North Carolina to Provide Local Exchange and Long Distance Services

Fonix Telecom, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Fonix(R) Corporation (OTCBB:FNIX), an integrated communications carrier providing telecommunications services and value-added speech technologies, received its Interexchange Company (IXC) and Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC) Certification from North Carolina Public Service Commission (NCPSC) to provide local exchange and interexchange services, specifically intrastate long distance and associated access services.
Fonix Telecom will begin providing facilities-based local telephone service and interconnection services in North Carolina. As a facilities-based network provider, Fonix Telecom is able to offer traditional telephony services in addition to already available broadband IP-based services, such as residential and business Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP).
