Network Engines and Stromboli Deploy NS6300 Security Appliance at Objective Productions

Posted on: Monday, 6 March 2006, 09:00 CST

Network Engines, Inc., (NASDAQ:NENG), a leading OEM appliance partner for Microsoft(R) security solutions, and Stromboli Limited, a prominent Microsoft Gold Certified Security Partner, successfully deployed an NS6300 security appliance at Objective Productions.

London-based Objective Productions is the UK's fastest growing television production company, expanding from 10 to 200 employees over the last three years. To meet the ambitious production requirements of a new digital TV channel, the company required a secure way for their demanding, highly mobile workforce to communicate and collaborate on an expanding list of high-profile projects.

Objective Productions asked the experts at Stromboli Limited to advise them of the best solution and they quickly determined that Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2004 would provide the secure connectivity that the production company required. Further consultation led both parties to choose the Network Engines NS Series(TM) Security Appliance as the ideal platform to deliver the multifunction security capabilities of Microsoft ISA Server.

"Objective Productions was experiencing rapid growth and needed to put a solution in place quickly that would protect our key assets such as Exchange and allow secure remote access via Outlook(R) Web Access," said Declan Gallagher, IT Manager for Objective Productions. "Deciding to deploy Network Engines was a simple decision due to its feature-rich functionality and cost effectiveness compared to other solutions. Stromboli installed and configured the NS6300 in a matter of hours and since then the appliance has given us exceptional performance with little maintenance, ensuring that our Microsoft communications are protected and secure."

"The flexibility of Network Engines appliances has now led us to configure the NS6300 to provide Outlook Mobile Access for our Windows Mobile(R) PDAs and SmartPhones," Gallagher continued. "Remote workers can now log on via ISA Server and be authenticated to access the company's Exchange e-mail server. The NS6300 has now enabled secure mobility for Exchange to our remote workers. The ability to provide multiple solutions easily and with no additional costs is a key differentiator of Network Engines."

"Security threats are on the rise and will continue to grow as workers become ever more mobile and the number of access points to each company's critical assets increases," said Gareth Green, General Manager for EMEA & APAC at Network Engines. "The deployment of an NS Series appliance at Objective Productions demonstrates the increasingly integral part our technology will play in securing and protecting core Microsoft applications in today's enterprises."

The Network Engines NS6300 is a multi-layer security platform providing advanced application-layer firewall, VPN, and web cache functionality to maximize defense-in-depth protection for core Microsoft infrastructure applications including Exchange Server, SharePoint(R) Portal Server, and Internet Information Services (IIS). Based on a full-featured version of Microsoft ISA Server 2004, the NS6300 combines ease of deployment with unified appliance management via NEWS(TM) - the Network Engines Web Services interface - to deliver the most comprehensive feature set available to defend Microsoft server assets.
