Posted on: Monday, 6 March 2006, 09:00 CST

Cisco Certified Softswitch Manager Solution Deployed at Managed Service Provider Cbeyond

JacobsRimell, the leading provider of customer-centric IP service fulfillment solutions, today announced its official membership in Cisco's Technology Developer Partner Program. Following rigorous testing procedures, JacobsRimell's APS (TM) Softswitch Manager solution became Cisco certified and is fully functional and operates in Cisco Systems-based operators' VoIP environments including Cbeyond, a VoIP-based (Voice over IP) managed service provider, headquartered in Atlanta, GA.

The integration of JacobsRimell's APS(TM) Softswitch Manager within Cisco's Broadband Local Services Solution helps to enable Cisco's service provider customers deploying the Cisco BTS 10200 to more easily develop, deliver and manage large scale VoIP implementations with all customer, service and infrastructure information centralized, managed and controlled from one application.

The joint solution has already been implemented by Cbeyond to streamline its voice and data service fulfillment process for small and medium business (SMB) customers. The tight integration of APS within the Cisco Broadband Local Services architecture helps to enable Cbeyond to better scale the deployment and management of its service offerings by speeding up and simplifying the provisioning process behind Cbeyond's self-service portal.

"JacobsRimell's APS solution provides a single platform for voice service fulfillment and management. The joint development solution within Cisco's architecture allows us to take the complexity out of the deployment of automated provisioning and customer self-service systems such as our portal CbeyondOnline," said Chris Gatch, CTO for Cbeyond.

As a Cisco Technology Developer Partner, JacobsRimell continues to develop products that complement Cisco's Service Exchange Framework (SEF) Solution for IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) which helps service providers deploy a complete array of real-time, personalized business and consumer multimedia services over any access network. JR's unique information aggregation and management model gives operators the fundamental information management architecture needed as the starting point towards an IMS-based, customer centric service delivery operation.

David Scholnick, Vice President, North American Channels, said: "Our history with Cisco Systems combined with our proven track record and ability to deliver in Cisco service provider VoIP environments benefits our joint customers as they deploy and manage complex IP based customer-centric services."

The Cisco Technology Developer Program sets criteria for interoperability testing by independent third parties and helps to enable leading product and services firms to deploy innovative business solutions. The program provides both service providers and enterprise customers with information regarding Cisco Technology Developer Partner products and services that an independent testing facility has tested and found to interoperate with Cisco networking technology.

JR's APS(TM) has proved highly successful amongst the world's largest telecom service providers, and is operational in customers such as Comcast, NTL in the U.K, UCG Europe (Liberty Media) and Cable & Wireless, to provision over 11 million voice, video and data subscribers across 13 countries worldwide.
