Posted on: Monday, 6 March 2006, 12:00 CST
Healthcare Management System, a Nashville-based healthcare company, has licensed Wolters Kluwer's Drug Dosing & Administration Database for implementation at around 450 of its healthcare facilities.
Dosing databases are intended to help physicians quickly check their medication decisions and avoid medical errors. They typically assess drug doses by considering patient-specific, clinically relevant parameters such as age, weight, renal function, indication and co-morbidities.
"The issue of patient safety cannot be overemphasized. Our clients look to us to provide information systems that significantly enhance their ability to provide excellent patient care as well as manage administrative functions," said Rob Swift, director of clinical products for Healthcare Management System.
"Adding Wolters Kluwer Health's advanced drug dosing database to their existing information systems will benefit every patient and healthcare professional in these hospitals."
