Cambodian artists to hold art exhibition in Singapore
PHNOM PENH, March 6 (Xinhua) -- Four Cambodian artists will open an art exhibition featuring their work in Singapore on Wednesday, local media reported on Monday.
It will be the first exhibition by a Singaporean art gallery solely of four Cambodian artists, The Cambodia Daily quoted staff member Vera Ong of the Art-2 Gallery as saying. "This will be unusual, as Singapore has so far not seen enough artworks from Cambodia," she said.
The exhibition, which will run through March, was organized by the Singaporean Embassy in cooperation with the gallery to both promote Cambodian artists and encourage exchanges between artists from the two countries, said Ambassador Lawrence Anderson.
The art program is also designed to broaden Singapore's contribution to Cambodia beyond educational and economic programs, he added.
