Cisco Systems Inc. will pay $51 million to buy Connecticut-based SyPixx Networks Inc., maker of network-centric video surveillance gear.
SyPixx's software and hardware enables existing analog video surveillance systems to operate as part of an open IP network, Cisco said Tuesday.
The deal, which is set to close before Oct. 1, will result in SyPixx video surveillance products being part of a new business unit in Cisco's Emerging Markets Technology Group.
