Radio One Agrees to Acquire WIFE-FM; New Station Moving to Cincinnati Market

Radio One, Inc. ("Radio One" or the "Company") (NASDAQ:ROIAK and ROIA) announced today that it has agreed to acquire the assets of radio station WIFE-FM, currently licensed to Connorsville, Indiana, for approximately $18.0 million in cash. Subject to the necessary regulatory approvals, the Company will move the station into the Cincinnati metropolitan area, and consolidate the station with its existing Cincinnati operations. Radio One expects to complete the acquisition during the second half of 2006. The Company will announce the specifics of the format and associated call sign change at a later date.
Commenting on the acquisition, Radio One President and Chief Executive Officer Alfred C. Liggins, III stated, "This is a great deal for Radio One. Cincinnati has been one of the best performing markets for us and this acquisition will further solidify our already strong position in this important midwest market."
