Mar. 9--N.C. Highway Patrol troopers suspect alcohol as a factor in a one-car crash late Wednesday that killed 22-year-old Justin Alan Reynolds of Granite Falls.
Reynolds was driving north on Ruritan Club Road near Granite Falls at about 10:45 p.m. when he lost control of his 2001 Honda, hit a mailbox and overturned, according to the Highway Patrol.
It was unclear what made Reynolds lose control, but he wasn't wearing a seat belt and was partially thrown from the car. He was pronounced dead of massive head injuries at the scene.
Investigators will have to wait for the results of toxicology tests to say whether alcohol was involved, said Highway Patrolman D.W. Church.
