OVERLAND PARK, Kan., Jan. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Sprint announced today that it has been honored with the 2004 Frost & Sullivan Telecom Services Vertical Company of the Year award. "Sprint is pleased to be recognized by Frost & Sullivan as a vertical solutions market leader," said Vicki Warker, vice president, Sprint Business Solutions Marketing. "Understanding that enterprise customers want solutions that will increase efficiencies and reduce costs, Sprint will continue to leverage its portfolio of wireless and wireline offerings and key partnerships to deliver solutions that provide maximum value for vertical industries."

Sprint is driving this transition as part of an organizational redesign that has shifted efforts in marketing, product development, channel management and sales to better meet the business challenges of core verticals. Despite a challenging telecom environment, Sprint has integrated its products and services to develop programs like Sprint Dealer Solutions for automotive manufacturing and the Sprint Empowered Desktop(SM) for K-12 education.

Frost & Sullivan annually recognizes a company that has demonstrated excellence in developing, marketing and selling vertical industry solutions within the telecom industry. The recipient is selected through a process of tracking and ranking innovative product offerings, vertical marketing strategies, brand awareness, competitive pricing, customer service and sales penetration within the telecom industry.

"Customers want carriers and vendors such as Sprint to understand their business, maintain subject matter experts and go the extra mile to provide solutions not products," said Rod Woodward, industry analyst, Frost & Sullivan. "Sprint is clearly making tremendous efforts in these areas and is building one of the most elite vertical markets programs in the telecom services industry."

Sprint provides customers with various data and voice solutions, including collaboration services that can enhance business communication and productivity. Sprint can also offer seamless network migration, scalability network security and managed services.
