Mar. 10–Unwanted, used cell phones will be collected today from 4 to 7 p.m. in the parking lot of Liberty Tax Service, 1225 Sixth Ave. S.E.

The collection is part of a nonprofit program called Cell Phones for Soldiers.

The cell phones are sold to a company that recycles them. The money received for the phones is used to purchase calling cards that are sent to soldiers stationed in Iraq. Each cell phone collected will buy a calling card for up to 100 minutes.

Coca-Cola and Kessler’s will provide refreshments for those who donate.
