Ariba Executive Named to 2006 Provider Pros to Know List By Supply & Demand Chain Executive Magazine; Chief Commercial Officer Kevin Costello Recognized for Deep Domain Knowledge and Innovative Thinking in Spend Management

Posted on: Friday, 10 March 2006, 09:00 CST

Ariba,(R) Inc. (Nasdaq:ARBA), the leading spend management solutions provider, today announced that Kevin Costello, the company's Chief Commercial Officer, has been named to Supply & Demand Chain Executive's 2006 list of Provider Pros to Know. Designed to recognize the top professionals in the supply and demand chain industry, the list includes individuals from software and service providers, consultancies, and analyst or research firms who exhibit deep domain knowledge and innovative thinking within their sectors.

Mr. Costello was selected as a Provider Pro to Know based on the depth and breadth of his spend management expertise, and on his dedication to the continued improvement of supply and demand chain technology and proven track record of helping companies achieve results.

"Mr. Costello has shown himself to be a clear thought leader in the spend management industry," said Andrew K. Reese, editor of Supply & Demand Chain Executive. "His efforts in developing the tools and processes necessary for supply chain transformation, and in promoting new approaches to supply chain enablement, have helped companies around the world enhance their performance and advance their strategic goals. For this, we honor him with a place on this year's Provider Pros listing."

Recognizing that spend management results cannot be achieved through software alone, Mr. Costello has been a driving force in the expansion of Ariba's offerings beyond technology to include spend management consulting services and commodity expertise. Under his leadership, Ariba has built a global network of more than 1,000 category experts and spend management professionals that focuses exclusively on helping companies transform their procurement and sourcing processes and drive measurable, sustainable results.

"Procurement used to be viewed as a tactical process. But today, it is a critical business function that companies around the world are leveraging to drive bottom-line results," Costello said. "I'm honored to be among the distinguished group of professionals recognized for helping to drive this transformation, and would like to thank the supply and demand chain executives who had the vision to embrace spend management. Their leadership has brought us this far and will continue to push the industry forward."
