Amazon.Com to Enter Digital Download Arena

Amazon.com is poised to become the latest player in the digital download arena, it was reported Friday.
The Web retailer is reportedly talking with three major Hollywood studios about a service allowing downloads of movies and DVDs and burning of them onto DVDs, sources told Friday's New York Times.
A person close to the talks identified the studios as Paramount Pictures, Universal Studios and Warner Bros., the Times said.
Amazon.com started as an online bookstore, but has evolved into one of the largest home entertainment providers, the newspaper noted.
An Amazon spokeswoman declined to comment on the report.
America Online as well as Wal-Mart and Target are working with studios to provide similar services.
