Company Adds Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) Global Satellite Solution Services Via GSA Contract
Telenor Satellite Services has expanded its portfolio of global communications services via satellite available to United States government customers through its General Services Administration Federal Telecommunications Service (GSA/FTS) contract.
Under the competitively awarded contract, government agencies and other appropriate organizations can obtain a full suite of data, high-speed data, and premium quality voice applications for both worldwide and domestic mobile satellite communications.
Of significant importance to U.S. Government customers is the addition of Telenor VSAT services to its GSA contract. These services offer government users the flexibility to order customized C and Ku band global VSAT systems over multiple satellite networks. The end-to-end services include network design, provision of equipment and capacity, implementation, operation, maintenance and training. Telenor's VSAT services provide customers with access to a full suite of telecommunications services including voice, data, Internet access with e-mail, video conferencing and many others. Telenor has been a global leader in customized VSAT services for a number of years with a center of expertise residing with Telenor Satellite Networks.
In addition to posting reduced prices for several existing services, Telenor now offers 144kbps Regional Broadband Global Area Network (Regional BGAN), Swift, the newest data and voice technology for the aviation industry, and Fleet and Global Area Network (GAN) technologies affording flexible high-speed and packet data options to maritime and land mobile users. Government purchasers can also obtain Iridium satellite services via the Telenor GSA contract.
"As we strive to be the world's preferred provider of communications via satellite, Telenor is committed to providing all of its customers premium services and expert, around-the-clock customer care," said Tore Hilde, chief executive officer of Telenor Satellite Services. "This company has enjoyed a long-standing business relationship with the United States Government that is based on high-quality reliable communications that provide government users the most value for their money. Telenor's most recent GSA contract modifications are proof of our continuing commitment to this business standard."
