Contexo Media Launches 2006 Print Edition of The National Directory of Children, Youth & Families Services, Which is Now Also Available As an Online Resource for the First Time

Posted on: Monday, 13 March 2006, 12:00 CST

Contexo Media today launched the 2006 print edition of The National Directory of Children, Youth & Families Services (Directory), which is available for $179 per copy.

In addition, Contexo Media also announced today that it has repurposed the industry-leading Directory, now in print for 22 years, into a Web-based service available for online use from anywhere via the Internet. Single-user licenses to access and use the resources of the Directory online start at $299 per user per year.

"First of all, we're quite proud to bring the 2006 print edition of The National Directory of Children, Youth & Families Services to the marketplace," said Treavor Peterson, president of Contexo Media. "For nearly 30 years the Directory has been a foundational resource that thousands of professionals across the country have utilized. And now that this same information is available for the first time as a Web-based resource, with all of the advantages the Internet offers, we're quite confident that industry professionals will agree our online version of the Directory is even more useful and beneficial in their daily work."

Contexo Media acquired the Directory in July 2006 from LLM Inc. of Englewood, Colo., and moved the company to Salt Lake City. Contexo Media's purchase of the Directory marked its first acquisition and launched the company into the business information and publishing industries, while also providing Contexo Media with its first foundational public health offering. Contexo Media also stated at the time its intention to make the Directory available as an online resource during the second quarter of 2006.

The 2006 edition of the Directory has more than 1,460 pages containing contact listings for more than 52,000 private sector and government institutions and professionals in all 50 states who help at-risk children. These institutions and professionals work in social services, health and mental health services, juvenile justice agencies, adoption and foster care agencies, referral networks, education departments, treatment centers and hospitals.

Categories, topics and contact information found in the Directory include listings of government and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) providing services to children, youth and families in such areas as:

-- adoption/foster care -- medical facilities -- advocacy -- mental health services -- armed services -- mentoring -- counseling -- national resource centers -- crisis care -- psychiatric care -- disabilities facilities -- rehabilitation facilities -- eating disorders -- residential treatment -- education -- respite care -- grants -- shelter care -- group homes -- social services -- health services -- special education -- hotlines -- substance abuse -- job corps -- treatment centers -- juvenile justice -- YMCA -- law enforcement -- YWCA

"One of the great benefits of having the Directory available as an online resource is the ability to quickly find exactly the resources you need for a client with a few taps on the keyboard and a click or two of a computer mouse," Peterson said. "And when a client has an urgent issue that needs to be addressed immediately, those are the times when every second counts. These are the values our Web-based Directory delivers for industry professionals: speed and accuracy."

The 22nd print edition of the Directory is available from Contexo Media for immediate purchase online for $179. User licenses for the online version of the Directory start at $299. To purchase a copy or a user license, please visit www.childrenyouthfamilydir.com or call 800-343-6681.
