Verari Systems to Integrate New Power Efficient Intel(R) Processors
Posted on: Tuesday, 14 March 2006, 09:00 CST
Verari Systems(TM), the premier developer of powerful, platform-independent blade computing systems, announced today that it will offer its BladeRack(R) 2 blade server systems based on the new Dual Core Intel(R) Xeon(R) processor (codenamed Dempsey) running at 3.73GHz with 1066 MHz system bus. Verari Systems' flexible and scalable platform-independent architecture ensures seamless incorporation of the latest in next generation high-performance processor technology.
"Processors like the new Dual Core Intel Xeon processor are exactly what our BladeRack 2 platform was designed to handle," said Dave Driggers, CEO of Verari Systems. "By solving the cooling and power issues that plague many of our competitors, we are able to take full advantage of the most recent platform innovations for optimum performance, including the 1066 MHz system bus and DBS with Enhanced Intel(R) Speed Step Technology, which will enable BladeRack 2 to continue driving ever increasing compute performance."
Verari Systems' BladeRack 2 blade server platform consists of 66 dual processor compute nodes and the company's patented Vertical Cooling Technology(TM), which enables the world's fastest microprocessors to perform in the highest density, highest performing blade environments found in most data centers today. The platform's power model is the other key ingredient to its success. By accepting 480V directly from the street, BladeRack 2 is able to eliminate the power loss associated with the conversions that take place in a facilities PDU and deliver a compute/watt ratio unparalleled by anyone else in the industry.
"The cooling and power advantages of Verari's BladeRack 2 platform allow it to fully harness the power of the new Dual Core Intel Xeon processor and it even has plenty of headroom for the future," said Boyd Davis, General Manager, Server Platforms Group Marketing, Intel.
