Axesstel to Supply Worldcall With Public Call Office Phones for Nationwide Expansion of Fixed Wireless Network in Pakistan

Axesstel, Inc. (AMEX:AFT), a leader in the design and development of fixed wireless voice and broadband data products, today announced it will supply Worldcall Telecom Limited with its new L1900 Public Call Office (PCO) Fixed Wireless Desktop Phone to support Worldcall's nationwide fixed wireless network expansion in Pakistan. Axesstel is scheduled to begin shipments of the L1900 PCO phones this month.
Worldcall strives to increase the currently low telecom penetration rate in Pakistan by expanding its fixed wireless network nationwide. Worldcall has wireless local loop (WLL) licenses in all 14 telecom regions in Pakistan and plans to launch the Axesstel L1900 PCO Fixed Wireless Phone in conjunction with its nationwide fixed wireless network expansion to provide cost-effective voice services to consumers and businesses in urban, semi-urban and rural areas. The L1900 and monthly service will be offered to merchants on a pre-paid basis.
"We continue to expand our fixed wireless network nationwide to meet the needs of a largely untapped market of consumers and businesses without access to quality, affordable voice services," said Babar Ali Syed, executive director for Worldcall Telecom. "Axesstel's innovative L1900 PCO phone provides us with a low-risk, low-cost solution for providing public phone services to customers in areas not serviced by landline networks and enables us to reach the most in-need communities with a low capital investment."
The Axesstel L1900 PCO allows merchants to provide customers with basic voice calling services. Integrated with a propriety payphone application, the L1900 PCO displays the number of calling units used during a call. The caller then pays the merchant for the cost of the call.
"We look forward to supporting Worldcall with its nationwide fixed wireless network expansion and are pleased that our L1900 PCO provides a solution to broaden its product offerings and grow market share," said Mike Kwon, chairman and chief executive officer for Axesstel. "Our global customer base continues to grow and adding Worldcall allows us to increase our market penetration in Pakistan."
The Axesstel L1900 PCO provides plug and play voice calling with enhanced features including short messaging service (SMS), call waiting, call forwarding, caller id, and three-way calling.
