Cisco Announces Industry-First Customized Channel Partner Communication Tools
Posted on: Thursday, 16 March 2006, 09:00 CST
Cisco Systems(R) (Nasdaq:CSCO) today introduced Cisco(R) Customized Partner Intelligence (CPI), part of the company's ongoing efforts to make it easier to do business with Cisco and help drive channel partner revenue growth. Cisco CPI provides channel partners with a new set of communication resources that include the Cisco Customized Partner Intelligence Newsletter and the Cisco Co-Branded Newsletter Tool.
"Cisco CPI was created as a direct response to our partners' need to streamline the information they get from Cisco and to help them engage our mutual customers in a cost-effective way," said Chuck Robbins, segment vice president for U.S. and Canada Channels at Cisco Systems. "We are proud to be the first in the industry to provide our channel partners with the tools to receive customized and relevant information from us, with the option to create and distribute their own branded newsletters with built-in metrics and tracking capabilities."
"With Cisco CPI, I'm not at the mercy of someone else deciding what articles and information I do and don't need. I choose what Cisco content is most relevant to our database and I can even customize our own layout, said Craig Perry, marketing coordinator for Netarx, a Cisco Gold Certified Partner. "The result is targeted marketing that is cost-effective, easy to use and doesn't take a ton of time to create. We have new business coming through that I can honestly say is 100 percent attributable to Cisco CPI."
The Cisco Customized Partner Intelligence Newsletter, free of charge to channel partners, is a specially designed e-newsletter that helps Cisco highlight its most important partner offerings based on a personalized preference profile that each channel partner creates.
The Cisco Co-Branded Newsletter Tool takes communications one step further and allows channel partners to create and distribute their own customized newsletters for end-user customers. Channel partners can use their own original content or take advantage of existing Cisco content. The easy-to-use online tool also helps partners gain pertinent information about their customers with a robust metrics-tracking capability that's designed to help partners get closer to their customers and deliver better service.
"Cisco CPI enables customized communication among Cisco, channel partners, and end users," said Ken Presti, research director of Network Channels and Alliances at IDC. "This capability can help people work more efficiently by preventing message overload and helping them focus on the important information they need most."
Partner Requirements
The Cisco Customized Partner Intelligence Newsletter is available to all channel partners that complete the simple subscription process. The Cisco Co-Branded Newsletter Tool is available to Cisco Registered or Certified Channel Partners that sign up for an annual subscription, which is valid for 12 months. More information can be found at: www.cisco.com/go/cpi.
Cisco Customized Partner Intelligence is currently available in the United States and Canada, with an expected rollout in other regions within the calendar year. However, each Cisco sales region will determine the timing of its local Cisco Customized Partner Intelligence launch date.
