Alcatel Space Deploys 1500 Seats of CoCreate's Product Data Management Tools

SINDELFINGEN, Germany and FORT COLLINS, Colo., Feb. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- CoCreate Software, a leading provider of collaborative product development software, announced that European satellite technology firm, Alcatel Space, has implemented 1500 seats of its Product Data Management (PDM) system. CoCreate's Model Manager now serves as the basis of Alcatel Space's in-house engineering and technical information system.

"It is vital for Alcatel Space to develop our custom-designed satellites in optimal time and at optimal costs. With Model Manager, Alcatel Space developers optimize planning and development, guarantee the reliability of technical data and store and leverage existing product data; all of which has increased productivity while shortening the production cycle. The data for each satellite is stored in absolute safety within the system. In addition, Model Manager supports production management at start up.

Alcatel Space was originally a supplier to the satellite industry specializing in electronics and pay-load optimization, but today develops complete satellite systems. The Alcatel Space IT Systems department has tripled in size as the company faces administrative challenges due to working in multiple locations, new areas of activity and heterogeneous PDM systems. In light of these new challenges and demands on productivity, Alcatel Space elected to standardize its information system. Because of its proven high level of performance and adaptability to the processes at the Toulouse site, Model Manager was also selected for implementation at the Cannes and Valence sites.
