More Taxpayers File Online

Mar. 17–More taxpayers are choosing to file their returns online again this year, according to the Internal Revenue Service, and the biggest increases are coming from home computers.
Of the 60.7 million returns filed so far this year, 71.5 percent were e-filed, up from 69.7 percent at the same time last year.
E-filings from tax professionals are up 4.4 percent so far this year, while those filed from home computers are up 16.6 percent.
