ZTE Corporation, a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, will make its CTIA debut at CTIA Wireless 2006, April 5 - 7, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Booth 1031.
With the theme of 'Making the World Converge,' ZTE will showcase its most up-to-date technologies including WiMAX systems, CDMA2000 1x EV-DO networks, ZTE's own GoTa CDMA2000 push-to-talk networks, Digital Home Gateways, and 3G handsets.
ZTE had worldwide contract revenue of over 4 billion USD in 2004, putting it in the top tier of global telecommunications equipment companies. The company made its first inroads to the U.S. in 1998 when it set up Research and Development offices in New Jersey, which were later followed by R&D offices in San Diego and Dallas. In 2005, ZTE made Dallas its U.S. corporate headquarters and subsequently launched sales and marketing operations.
ZTE CDMA products have been successfully deployed in nearly 60 countries by over 100 operators with a global capacity of more than 30 million lines. CDMA 2000 systems have been installed in countries including China, India, Indonesia, and Pakistan.
ZTE's GoTa (Global open Trunking architecture) digital trunking system based on CDMA2000 technology has been implemented in countries including Russia and Malaysia, and ZTE-patented GoTa technologies have been licensed to major telecoms equipment companies worldwide.
ZTE is a major Asian producer of handsets and recently announced a deal to supply 3G handsets to the Hutchison-owned 3 network in the U.K.
In 2005, ZTE established cooperative partnerships with U.S. and European world leaders in telecommunications, including partnerships with Alcatel to develop CDMA solutions, with Cisco to jointly focus on IP-related markets in the Asia-Pacific region excluding Japan, and with France Telecom and Portugal Telecom on joint R&D programs.
"Our proven wireless and network technology solutions, which span all aspects of modern telecommunication networks, enable operators to enhance their competitive edge. For example, ZTE's advanced All-IP CDMA2000 network architecture provides operators with flexibility in deployment, as well as optimization of their backhaul transmission, while providing a smooth evolution of the 3G network to EV-DO and beyond," said Dr. George Sun, CEO of ZTE USA Inc. "With a strong U.S. team, we are actively involved with customers to provide the next generation of wireless communication technology and solutions for the United States."
ZTE USA Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of ZTE Corporation, is headquartered in Dallas with offices in New Jersey and San Diego. ZTE USA is leveraging ZTE's proven strength in IP and wireless technologies, strong R&D capability, and strategic industry partnerships to bring innovative wireless and wireline solutions and mobile handsets to customers across the nation. In particular, the company is focused on developing a strong North American presence with its All-IP CDMA2000 1x EV-DO, CDMA 2000 push-to-talk (GoTa) network solutions, 3G handsets and data cards, Digital Home Gateway convergence solutions, and WiMAX equipment.
Notes to the editors:
CDMA2000 1x EV-DO
-- The product offers wireless data services at a speed of 2.4 Mbps. -- It is interoperable with CDMA2000 1x system. -- ZTE has built over 40 commercial or trial CDMA2000 1x EV-DO networks in more than 30 countries including Russia, Algeria, and Vietnam. ZTE is now China's largest CDMA telecommunications equipment exporter and one of the leading CDMA equipment vendors in the world.
CDMA2000 1x Push to Talk (GoTa)
