Mar. 19--TOKYO -- Information on the computer system of the Jasdaq Securities Exchange has leaked onto the Internet via the Winny file-sharing software from a computer of Hitachi Ltd. which developed the system for Japan's largest market for start-up firms, the exchange said Sunday.
The information includes the system's development schedule and its work procedure which was stored from around October 2004 and January 2005 for the launch of the Jasdaq security exchange's operation under a new entity in December 2004.
The leakage does not have any effects on the operation of the Jasdaq market because the exchange has been using a new computer system introduced in January this year.
"It's quite regrettable that information has been leaked from a company that was commissioned (by the exchange). We'll tighten control on the management of information at commissioned companies," the exchange said.
