Dubai Ports Company Obligation to Protect American Ports

Dar al-Hayat newspaper reported on the objections of the American Congress to the deal transferring management of five American ports to the Dubai International Ports Company
. The paper quoted a Company spokesman who said in mid-February 2006 that the Company manages security very well for the ten ports it manages worldwide. The paper noted that the Company has obligated itself to provide security at the American ports as part of the deal to buy the British P & O Shipping Company.Source: Info-Prod Research (Middle East)
