COMMX Announces Broadband Communication Services

Posted on: Tuesday, 17 February 2004, 06:00 CST

Communications Xchange ("CommX") announced immediate availability of low cost digital voice communication services for small business customers. Managed digital voice services deployed over the CommX network enable small businesses to enjoy significantly lower costs, and rich features typically available only to large enterprises. CommX is the first local telecom provider to offer digital broadband (DSL, Cable, T1, etc.) services utilizing VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) in the Tampa Bay area. ¶ Managing Partner and CEO Michael A. Viren, PhD., is a pioneer in the development of telephony services. "We have made substantial technological investments for the benefit of our customer base since our beginning in early 2002," Viren explained. "As the market accelerates, people are finding out that managed digital voice services are a far greater value than the old circuit switched technology."¶ Organizations contemplating a new or upgraded PBX or Key System can reduce capital and maintenance costs by implementing a CommX hosted solution, and can optionally continue to use their existing analog phones or upgrade to digital phones. CommX can also deliver digital VoIP line/trunk service to an existing PBX or Key System, providing a customer with reduced rates and increased functionality. ¶ BroadWorks(R), developed by CommX business partner BroadSoft, is the most widely deployed VoIP network communications platform in the world and is the key to CommX service features and functionality. CommPilot(TM), the web-interface of the platform, empowers businesses to self-configure and manage group and personal features in real-time. Individual users benefit from increased control and flexibility, accessing CommPilot(TM) via the web, mobile phone or wireless device. CommPilot(TM) also provides management of incoming and outgoing phone calls and includes integration with Microsoft(R) Outlook. ¶"We provide lower costs, web-based management, and flexible features along with local, long distance and Internet on a single bill from a single local vendor. We believe that is a great choice for any business," commented Partner and CFO, Oscar Williams. ¶ Businesses in the Tampa Bay area who would like to learn more about how broadband voice services would save them money or to learn more about the technology can call 813-933-6767, extension 119.
