Mar. 22--CONCORD -- Police say a Concord man is dead after he was stabbed by his roommate during an argument that got out of hand.

Police responded to reports of two men fighting at a home on the 4000 block of Treat Boulevard about 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, Lt. David Chilimidos said.

When they arrived, officers found two men scuffling, one of whom who had been stabbed several times in the torso, Chilimidos said.

Investigators found a small dagger-type knife at the scene, and arrested Nathan Gideon, 25, on charges of assault with a deadly weapon.

The injured man, 37, was treated at a nearby hospital, where he died during surgery about 10:30 p.m., police said.

Police did not release the victim's name pending notification of his family.

Investigators are still looking into what sparked the fight, Chilimidos said.
