Reuters group PLC’s financial-services clients will be able to integrate market data with their own content now that the news agency has rolled out an open-source version of its Market Data System. The software has been available only on Sun Microsystems’ Solaris platform. By offering a version that runs on Red Hat Linux Advanced Server and Intel-based Hewlett-Packard ProLiant servers, says Casey Merkey, Reuters’ Market Data System global Linux program manager, Reuters hopes to drive down costs for its clients.
