Personal Data Leaked About Yahoo Website Shoppers

Mar. 24--TOKYO -- Yahoo Japan Corp. said Friday personal data on 8,223 deals for a wine-selling firm on its shopping website have been leaked through the Winny file-sharing program on a virus-infected personal computer of the firm.
The leaked data on deals made for Cave de Vin Yorozuya between March 2004 and September 2005 include personal names, addresses, phone numbers and e-mail addresses.
Yahoo said it shut down the Cave de Vin Yorozuya store on its shopping website on Friday and will alert other stores on the website about the threat of computer viruses and the file-sharing program.
