DisplaySearch Hires PC Monitor Industry Executive; Continues Expansion

DisplaySearch, the worldwide leader in flat panel display (FPD) market research and consulting, today announced the hiring of Christopher P. Connery, the former head of monitor product management and marketing for NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics Display. Mr. Connery joins DisplaySearch as vice president of monitor market research, continuing the company's strategic expansion in response to increased global demand for its suite of services. This hire is the company's sixth key addition in less than four months. ¶ Mr. Connery brings ten years of experience with LCD computer displays, including a wide range of responsibilities in product development, line management, and marketing. He was most recently the director of marketing and product management for NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics Display where he helped establish their market-driven product, channel, and market segmentation strategies for both the NEC and Mitsubishi brands of LCD and CRT computer monitors. Mr. Connery was responsible for strategies in new large-format LCD display applications such as digital signage and flight information displays. While there, he managed products developed internally, and products outsourced from Taiwanese, Korean and Japanese manufacturers. Previously, Mr. Connery was the LCD monitor product line manager for the market leader, NEC Technologies, where he helped create the early LCD desktop monitor market. Prior to that he was the portable computer group product manager for Zenith Data Systems' notebook computers and related peripherals, including the first removable LCD computer displays. Mr. Connery began his career in the value added reseller channel with Veritechnology Electronics (Heath/Zenith), where he held positions in systems engineering and marketing support. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame. ¶ Mr. Connery will be responsible for enhancing DisplaySearch's ongoing research efforts in the monitor marketplace. In this capacity, he will track, trend and forecast monitor market dynamics, providing in-depth data and analysis for monitor technologies. He is also responsible for enhancing DisplaySearch's expanding custom consulting services in the monitor arena.
