Accuris Networks Unveils AccuROAM: First "Off-the-Shelf" Complete Fixed-Mobile Convergence Solution
Posted on: Monday, 27 March 2006, 00:00 CST
Accuris Networks, a leading provider of complete mobile convergence technology, today publicly unveiled its AccuROAM(TM) product -- the first readily available technology to offer CDMA to GSM to SIP in all directions. AccuROAM is the latest breakthrough for Accuris Networks whose technology was the first mobile convergence solution ever deployed -- for the Atlanta Olympic Games in 1996 -- the first roaming broker solution, the first CDMA-to-GSM roaming solution and the first CDMA-to-GPRS data roaming solution. Accuris Networks today also announced: multi-million dollar first-round funding from Atlantic Bridge Ventures; partners HP and LogicaCMG; customer wins; its membership in MobileIGNITE(TM); the opening of its U.S. office in Boston; and its demonstration at the upcoming CTIA Wireless 2006 conference and expo in Las Vegas with HP and Monaco Telematique.
AccuROAM(TM)
AccuROAM is designed to provide network operators with a profitable and painless path to IMS while delivering a seamless subscriber experience across all existing cellular and IP-based networks. It works with voice, data and messaging and supports both wireless and fixed-line technology. AccuROAM meets all IMS technical requirements as outlined in 3GPP and 3GPP2. The Accuris Networks AccuROAM technology is available today and is currently in operation with multiple network operators worldwide.
"Carriers want to maximize investment and the use of existing infrastructure while evolving to next-generation IP networks," says Dean Bubley, founder of Disruptive Analysis. "Many operators are deploying fixed-mobile converged services -- but they still need to maximise their previous investments in infrastructure and applications. They, therefore, need solutions that integrate existing circuit-switched platforms with next-generation IP networks, whether they are IMS-based or not."
AccuROAM enables subscribers to roam from their mobile network onto a home wireless network, or a corporate network at the office, or onto a Wi-Fi hotspot, or between CDMA and GSM, all from one device with one number. This fixed-mobile convergence technology enables carriers to increase their service footprint and offer consolidated services, increasing ARPU (average revenue per user). Moreover, AccuROAM works with any existing infrastructure, allowing operators to offer IMS-like services today without the cost and time investment of a full-IMS system.
"Our latest product truly underscores the vision of Accuris Networks -- to enable complete network convergence. AccuROAM, for the first time, delivers seamless customer movement and experience across all existing cellular, fixed and IP-based networks from one device, with one number for voice, messaging and data," says Aidan Dillon, CEO, Accuris Networks. "We believe that our history of innovation combined with our proven product will afford Accuris Networks a leadership position as the lucrative fixed-mobile convergence market takes hold."
AccuVANTAGE(TM) Roaming Broker, AccuVANTAGE Managed Roaming, AccuPROFILE(TM)
Network operators have the option to combine AccuROAM with the powerful AccuVANTAGE(TM) and AccuPROFILE(TM) technologies, which enable dynamic device management and managed roaming and brokering. The AccuVANTAGE roaming broker optimizes inbound and outbound roaming based on existing roaming agreements. The AccuVANTAGE managed roaming product allows subscribers to connect to preferred networks and also directs subscribers based on a predefined percentage split across existing cellular and IP-based networks. AccuPROFILE offers a centralized repository of device and service profiles to enable a seamless experience across all clients, applications and services. The AccuPROFILE auto-detect function can track devices on the network, which triggers device management and service profile management -- serving as a catalyst for over-the-air (OTA) provisioning.
Venture Capital Funding
Accuris Networks also announced its multi-million dollar funding from Atlantic Bridge Partners. Accuris Networks plans to use the investment to enhance the company's product line and strengthen its global operations to support the growing demand for its products and services.
"Accuris has earned a well-deserved reputation for innovative product development and excellent working relationships with its existing customer base," says Brian Long, a partner at Atlantic Bridge Ventures. "We are consistently impressed by its technological prowess and are confident that this investment will pave the way for market leadership in the future."
Partnerships: HP and LogicaCMG
Accuris Networks is working strategically with key network infrastructure powerhouses including HP and LogicaCMG. Accuris Networks is a member of HP's OpenCall Partner Programme, in which HP sells AccuROAM as part of its end-to-end HP OpenCall solution. Accuris Networks has had a long-standing and successful relationship with LogicaCMG for a number of years, including joint development of numerous of products.
