Mar. 27--One person was killed and seven others injured in six separate shootings throughout Milwaukee this weekend, police said Sunday.
A 23-year-old Milwaukee man was killed after he talked to a woman at a bar, and the woman's male companion became angry about the conversation, police said. The shooting occurred at Stargazers Show Lounge & Sports Bar, 7158 W. Fond du Lac Ave., about 2 a.m. Sunday, Milwaukee police Capt. Edward Liebrecht said.
The shooter fled the bar in a red Chevrolet pickup truck and is still at large, police said. Police also are looking for another man who was with the shooter at the time. The name of the victim has not been released.
Also, one man was in critical condition and two other men received less serious wounds in shootings that occurred outside of Carter's Corner tavern in the 600 block of W. Keefe Ave. The men were leaving the bar at about 1:20 a.m. Sunday when people in a dark green van with a gray horizontal stripe drove and began firing at them, Liebrecht said.
The most seriously injured victim, a Milwaukee man, 34, was shot once in the abdomen and once in the leg. He was at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital on Sunday. The two other victims, also Milwaukee men and 34, were treated and released.
Police have no immediate motive for the shootings, Liebrecht said.
