Additional Features Arrive Just in Time for Tax Season
AOL today announced Jennifer Openshaw has joined AOL Money & Finance (http://money.aol.com) and will serve as AOL's Family Financial Editor, providing budgeting and smart investing tips to more than 10 million AOL(R) Money & Finance users just in time for tax season. AOL also announced the launch of a new Stock Screener and Top 5, a weekly series in partnership with SmartMoney.com. Stock Screener is an easy to use investment management tool to review and compare stocks based on various financial criteria. The Top 5 weekly series provides readers with the five things they need to know about a timely financial topic, such as taxes.
Jennifer Openshaw, author, noted consumer finance expert and entrepreneur, will write a monthly column called "Rags to Riches" that will feature a person who has achieved financial success and independence - after going from almost nothing - through interesting and often challenging means. She will also provide consumers with budgeting and smart investing tips. Openshaw, founder of Women's Financial Network and now CEO of Openshaw's Family Financial Network, appears frequently on programs such as CNN, Dr. Phil and Oprah. She is also host of "Winning Advice with Jennifer Openshaw," heard on ABC Radio (http://www.winningadvice.com).
"We are excited that our users will be able to benefit from Jennifer's wealth of knowledge and common-sense advice on smart budgeting and everyday consumer finance topics," said Marty Moe, Vice President and General Manager, Money & Finance, AOL. "AOL Money & Finance continues to grow and add more features that reflect our commitment to providing a comprehensive and accessible online destination for a wide range of financial information and resources - from budgeting and managing bills to investing to breaking business news."
"My extensive experience and success providing families with sound financial advice and planning will give AOL users the background and tools to effectively manage their household finances," said Openshaw. "The monthly Rags to Riches column will show you how real people have done extraordinary things to get financially secure."
And just in time for tax season, the Money & Finance Top 5 weekly series in partnership with SmartMoney.com, will take on a timely financial topic and provide readers with the five things they need to know. Whether it's about taxes, saving money on home cooling costs, investing in real-estate, or re-balancing your 401(k), this series is informative, fun, and a necessary read for any consumer.
In addition, AOL Money & Finance recently added a new feature called "Stock Screener" (http://money.aol.com/investing/stockscreener). Stock Screener will allow users to do both custom and pre-canned screens and sort stocks on a multitude of criteria, including:
-- Sector
