Focusing on the Semiconductor Markets and the Semiconductor Industry's Capacity Situation

Posted on: Tuesday, 28 March 2006, 09:00 CST

Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/reports/c34947) has announced the addition of Semiconductor Product Forecast: It's Still a Cyclical Business to their offering.

After one of the shortest and mildest downturns in semiconductor industry history, unit shipments and revenues both rose in the third quarter of 2005 marking the beginning of the next up cycle. The author expects only slightly slower growth in the fourth quarter to result in 2005 annual revenue totalling $228.1 billion, up 7.1% from 2004 and a new industry record. The downturn that ran from the last quarter of 2004 through the second quarter of 2005 is almost invisible because it did not result in any one year showing a revenue drop.

This forecast examines the economic outlook throughout the world, semiconductor markets and the semiconductor industry's capacity situation. The five-year forecast is broken out by region and by major product type.
