Greater China Photonic Solutions Introduces Integrated Supply Chain to Help Optical Companies Cut Costs

Consortium offers the first China-based integrated component and

subsystem supply chain for worldwide communications companies that

manufacture products in China

¶ Greater China Photonic Solutions(TM) (GCPS), an industry consortium that offers the first China-based integrated component and subsystem supply chain for communications companies that manufacture products in China, was introduced in the U.S. today. GCPS allows optical companies to reduce the cost of their products by taking advantage of high-quality, low-cost supplies made in China. Customers can easily access a broad range of products that encompass everything from fiber to optical components and subsystems via a single point of contact. ¶"Many optical companies go to China for low-cost manufacturing, but they overlook the potential benefits of outsourcing in China," said Simon Cao, PhD, chairman of GCPS and founder and CEO of Arasor Corporation. "Instead, they buy materials, subcomponents, and components in the U.S. and Japan and ship them to China, and these materials account for the majority of product costs. Each GCPS member offers products that contribute to the value of the total GCPS supply chain.

high-performance fiber-optic communication products that are
