HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill., March 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- In an effort to centralize business processes and better service customers, Group 1 Automotive Inc. today announced its decision to place all of its existing automotive dealerships nationwide on the dealer management systems (DMS) offered by the Dealer Services Group of Automatic Data Processing Inc. .
ADP Dealer Services provides its automotive dealer customers with easy-to-use, dealer-proven, integrated computer solutions, along with world-class service and support. The evolution of each ADP technology solution represents a continued commitment to help dealers sell more cars, parts and service profitably. Of the top automotive dealer consolidators who have chosen to use a single source provider, seven have selected ADP.
"Group 1 Automotive is pleased to announce this strategic alliance with ADP Dealer Services," said Earl J. Hesterberg, president and chief executive officer of Group 1. "ADP has provided innovative services and solutions to Group 1 for several years, giving us confidence in our decision to make them our dealership management system provider."
Presently 70 percent of Group 1 stores nationwide use an ADP DMS. All of these dealerships have or will be migrating toward ADP's Web-based, next generation DMS technology -- w.e.b.Suite2006. The remaining 30 percent of Group 1 stores currently use DMS platforms from other providers. These high-volume stores, located throughout California, Texas, Georgia and Florida, will begin conversion to ADP's w.e.b.Suite2006 this May. Group 1 anticipates that all conversions will be completed by the end of 2007.
"Group 1 is a Fortune 500 company and a leader in the automotive retailing industry. It's exciting to have earned this level of respect and trust with a vibrant public company that understands the ease-of-use, flexibility, innovation and evolutionary strategy behind our products and services," said Steve Anenen, president of ADP Dealer Services. "ADP looks forward to a long and rewarding relationship with Group 1."
