NBC and Disney-ABC's Touchstone Television have teamed up for the latest video-on-demand offering which will see all current episodes of this season's TV hit, 'Scrubs', made available on the iTunes Music Store.
The popular comedy show, produced by Touchstone Television, has been added to the existing collection of shows that can be purchased as a download from Apple's iTunes music store at a cost of $1.99 per episode.
Anne Sweeney, president of Disney-ABC, said, "As was evidenced by our groundbreaking deal with Apple that created the industry template for video dissemination on iTunes, the Disney-ABC TV Group is dedicated to being at the forefront of providing our incredible content, whether it is programming we create and air on ABC or that that we've created and licensed to other broadcasters, to consumers no matter when, where or how they want to view it."
Given that the ABC and NBC belong to competing media companies, such a partnership seemed unlikely but the move is likely to encourage similar deals between other rival broadcast networks.
