SEOUL, Korea, Feb. 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- NetScreen Technologies, Inc. today announced that Korea DACOM Corporation, a LG Group affiliate and Korea's leading Internet services company, has selected NetScreen's network security appliances and systems to provide firewall protection and virtual private network (VPN) connectivity for many of DACOM's enterprise managed service customers in Korea.
Additionally, DACOM has selected from NetScreen's comprehensive product line, high-end integrated firewall/ VPN systems to secure its mission-critical infrastructure that is designed to provide and support its 24x7 eBiz managed service. DACOM's deployment includes multiple units of NetScreen's gigabit firewall and VPN systems, which are paired and deployed in High Availability mode to protect DACOM's eBiz infrastructure backbone.
More than 300 NetScreen appliances -- including the versatile NetScreen-200 series, -50, -25, and -5 devices -- are installed at customer sites located throughout the country to protect their core networks and establish secure connections to DACOM's infrastructure.
The NetScreen solution was chosen after an extensive evaluation and testing to ensure that it delivers the same high performance, stability and reliability as DACOM's eBiz service commitments to its many leased-line and broadband enterprise customers.
In addition to providing firewall and VPN functionality for DACOM's primary eBiz service offering, NetScreen is the selected security solution provider for other DACOM services, including BORANet, a leased-line service for business customers, as well as for the company's subsidiary operations, such as Korea Internet Data Center (KIDC), which offers co-location and Web hosting services in Korea.
"All our integrated network security appliances and systems are designed with stringent customer requirements in mind, like easy, flexible deployment options and device scalability," said David Flynn, NetScreen vice president of marketing. "In the case of DACOM, we have worked with the customer to understand and address their central site security needs while enabling them to leverage their investment to further expand their business and customer base."
