Digital Persona Secures Itronix Notebooks and Network Access With Fingerprint Authentication Software

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., April 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Digital Persona, Inc., a leading provider of biometric authentication solutions for enterprise networks and commercial applications, announced today that its DigitalPersona Pro fingerprint authentication solution now supports Itronix GoBook(R) VR1 semi-rugged notebooks equipped with an integrated fingerprint reader. Itronix, a General Dynamics company, is a world-class developer of ruggedized, wireless handheld and notebook computers for the mission critical mobile workforce.

Computer use beyond the office confines requires the same security and access concerns as desktop use. The DigitalPersona Pro fingerprint recognition software affords Itronix notebook users another layer of protection by enabling remote, secure network access that combines traditional safeguards, such as passwords, with fingerprint-based authentication technology. In addition to eliminating reliance on user names and passwords, mobile workers gain network access on their Itronix GoBook VR1 notebooks with the touch of a finger on the built-in fingerprint reader.

DigitalPersona Pro Server software, starting at $1,499, installs on Windows domain controllers and uses Windows Active Directory to provide a manageable, scalable and reliable enterprise solution.
